Are you interested in gardening and pollination? Would you like to be a part of something new and exciting? Are you wanting to be creative and have fun? Then WE NEED YOU!

The Latrobe Valley Beekeepers Association is seeking members to drive and contribute in the creation of a dedicated community garden at our clubrooms in Moe.

The LVBA Community Pollinator Garden will be financially supported by the LVBA and require little “committee meeting” time, so that members can get their hands dirty designing and building a unique community garden model that will benefit, the club, the site and the broader community.

The LVBA believes that community gardens are beneficial to the environment, and to the health and wellbeing of the community. The introduction of community gardens may be able to reduce the impact of food deserts in low-income areas and allow residents greater access to nutritious food that is necessary to live a healthy life.

Community gardens can help reduce negative environmental impacts by promoting sustainable agriculture; reducing food transportation costs and reducing water runoff. Humans, plants and animals can all benefit from urban agriculture since it creates habitats and improves the ecology of the area.

If you are interested in this idea and would like to be a part of the journey, please email LVBA.Communications@gmail.com or message us on the club Facebook
