Join us for an informative and thought-provoking presentation by Matt Petersen, a commercial beekeeper from the coastal town of Fish Creek.
Matt will take us on a journey through the history and evolution of beekeeping in Greece, exploring the challenges and successes experienced by Greek beekeepers over time. Topics will include agricultural development, the impact of agricultural chemicals, the arrival of Varroa, and the valuable lessons he has gained from his own experiences.
The presentation will also examine Greece's success with Cultural Integrated Pest Management (IPM), organic treatment methods, and the broader community understanding of the vital role pollinators play in maintaining healthy ecosystems and food production.
Whether you're a new beekeeper, an experienced apiarist, or simply interested in bees and pollinator health, this is a presentation not to be missed.
